Q: I have recently received sugaring from your studio and was wondering when I need to come in for a follow-up treatment. I have noticed a few a stray hairs and wanted to know if this is normal after sugaring.
A: We recommend that clients come in for a follow-up treatment approximately 4 to 6 weeks after their initial treatment. If the stray hairs are growing in 1-2 weeks after the sugaring, you can come in for a touch up session so we can remove those hairs. It is common and we are happy to remove them so you can experience soft, smooth skin.

Q: I am an avid cyclist and swimmer and have noticed that hair in the crotch area tends to irritate my skin. I am considering a consultation for a male Brazilian sugaring service and have a few questions: How is it done, who does it, is it painful? Do I need to prepare before I come, and trim to a certain length?
A: Many cyclists and swimmers prefer sugaring over shaving their crotch area. At Acomoclitic this is our specialty. The product and technique we use for male brazilians is not common at other waxing studios and yet it is ideal, especially on the sensitive scrotum skin, we call it sugaring. Most individuals comment that they experience a quick moment of discomfort that passes quickly. The most sensitive part is going to be around the base of the penis. Your service will be performed by one of our experienced estheticians. Every one of our estheticians has been personally trained to provide the best service possible and are experts when it comes to male brazilians.
You do not need to trim anything before you come in for your appointment. If your hair needs to be trimmed we will trim it for you before beginning the service. It is important that you arrive for your service relaxed. Being nervous will only make you more sensitive and make the service more painful than it needs to be.

Q: I am a young male interested in a Brazilian. I have heard before that men can sometimes experience an erection during these services. Is this true? If so, is it common?
A: Getting an erection during a waxing service is not unheard of and our estheticians are familiar with this type of situation as it can happen once in awhile. Typically it only lasts a very short time of the entire service since the pain of the hair being removed distracts from any pleasurable sensations. It is more likely to happen on a first visit since you aren't sure what to expect and can be more nervous. On future visits you will find that you are much more relaxed and able to carry on a casual conversation with the esthetician without even worrying about erections or no erections.

Q: How much do your sugaring services cost?
A: Our sugaring services vary in price depending on the area of the body. Our most popular Acomoclitic or Brazilian is $55 for women and $65 for men. You can check out our brochure online for our entire pricelist.

Q: I'm confused about the differences between the "Brazilian Sugar" and "Brazilian Laser Hair Removal". What are the benefits of each service?
A:Our Brazilian sugaring service gives instant results by removing the hair from the root. Your hair must be grown in for this service so the sugar can grab the hair (at least 1/4-1/2 inch long). It lasts about two weeks that you won't have hair. Then the hair will start growing back in phases (usually three phases). It take 6-8 weeks before you are back to 'hairy' so usually you want to get sugared every 4-5 weeks for maintenance. Laser hair removal is a long-term service plan that results in permanent hair removal and permanent results. You have to shave before the treatment. There are many factors to consider when deciding between a sugar and laser treatment including hair color, skin color, cost, aftercare, maintenance, pain tolerance and service frequency. Typically sugar is great for immediate results like for a vacation. Laser hair removal is going to take longer to get to a soft, smooth feel since the hairs gradually fall out over time with each session, but will ultimately be the best for a long term solution.

Q: I have heard that sugaring treatments are very painful. Do you provide any sort of pain killers or numbing aids before a service?
A: If you’re interested in getting a Brazilian and are worried about the pain, we do offer a No Scream Cream which is made with 20% Benzocaine. This is a numbing cream that you can apply 30-45 minutes before the service to help ease discomfort during the service. This cream is available in the front lobby of our studio and should be purchased and applied at least 30 minutes before your appointment time for it to be effective.

Q: How much would it cost to have numerous areas of my body sugared?
A: When sugaring multiple areas of the body, it is best to review our menu of prices. Typically we can give a discount when doing full body or nearly full body sugaring sessions by not charging for some of the small spots. For example, when doing full legs, we will not charge for the feet and toes.

Q: My wife is about 7 months pregnant, is it safe for her to have a Brazilian?
A: It is perfectly safe for a female to receive a Brazilian during pregnancy. While this service is not dangerous, many women tend to by hypersensitive when pregnant and feel more pain during the service. We do not recommend any numbing aids for pregnant women as to prevent any harm being done to the fetus. If the pain tolerance is low and a Brazilian is too much to handle, our staff would be happy to separate the sugaring into multiple sessions so it is easier to handle. Another option is to sugar the areas that can be tolerated and we can trim the remaining hair. We have seen some pregnant women who did not have any extra sensitivity during the sugaring.

Q: My girlfriend has really sensitive skin down there, is there a way to trim it up without her getting all irritated or having issues, is this something you can assist with or consult with her on?
A: For this particular case, we would recommend laser treatment because it would take care of the problem permanently and most clients experience very little irritation from laser treatments. If laser is not an option, we offer sugaring for brazilian hair removal services that is meant to be less painful and more effective than strip wax. We have a numbing cream available at our Studio that can be applied before to help ease any discomfort. A personal consultation is recommended with either service so the esthetician can become knowledgeable about the extent of her sensitivity, any allergies to products, and the best service for her personal situation. We can also do a test area to see how her skin responds. Or if she simply wants us to trim the hair for a more groomed look, we can easily trim the hair for her and make sure to get all the hard to reach places.

Q: What sort of wax do you use for bikini-waxing?
A: Primarily we use sugar for our bikini services. Sugaring is known to be less irritating on the skin. It not hot which limits the amount of inflammation during and following a treatment.

Q: My girlfriend is looking for someone to do a full brazilian wax and a full leg wax at one place. Do you offer leg waxing as well and how much for the two together?
A: The full legs are $75 and the brazilian is $55. For both areas it will take about an hour and a half.

Q: I've never actually had a Brazilian wax before. I've been looking into waxing and am curious how long you've been in business?
A: Acomoclitic opened in November of 2006. Our staff at Acomoclitic understands that intimate hair removal services should be done professionally and held to the highest standards. We stand by our experienced staff and services, and know that we can provide the best services in Colorado. Instead of waxing, we offer sugaring which is similar but typically offer a smoother look and feel without as much irritation as waxing.

Q: I shave daily but am interested in a Brazilian wax service. How long should I stop shaving before my initial waxing service?
A: If you shave daily, you'll need to stop shaving for about 12-16 days so the hair can grow to 1/4 - 1/2 inch long. You will be hair free for about two weeks after the treatment. We recommend that you do not shave in between services to ensure the best results, and simply re-book for a follow-up appointment when the hair is the appropriate length. We do sugaring which seems to last longer than traditional waxing. We also provide laser hair removal services for a more permanent solution.

Q: I am interested in sugaring both front and back of private part. I am also interested in the bleaching of both areas. I am 6 months pregnant. Is this an ok procedure for me?
A: Many of our services are safe to perform while pregnant, and are actually recommended so there is little strain in bending and maneuvering in an attempt to shave. Sometimes pregnant women can be more sensitive due to extra blood flow to the vaginal area. If the sugaring service becomes too painful to complete, we would gladly separate the services into multiple sessions to make them easier to handle.
The ingredients in the skin bleaching creams are biogenic, meaning that they already exist in your body. This is important because it ensures that they are safe and free of harmful chemicals to use while you are pregnant. The cream is designed for vaginal and anal regions.

Q: I am interested in the male Brazilian sugaring treatment, as well as other body areas. Can each service be done at the same time?
A: Acomoclitic Studio specializes in men's full body hair removal, particularly the Brazilian. All body areas can be done in the same session. However, for your comfort, if you prefer to spread the areas between two sessions, we will gladly accommodate you. Because we do sugar instead of wax, it seems to cut down on the pain and most men can tolerate having multiple areas done in one day.

Q: I am interested in doing the male brazilian but prefer to leave hair on my legs and stomach? How can you make it look natural or do I need to remove that hair too?
A: For men, this is a common concern. We have mastered how to remove the hair in one area and transition to the area that still has hair so it doesn't look like an obvious blunt line. Typically we will remove the hair on the inside of the leg following the natural curve of the thigh hair growth. We will trim some of the length at the top of the leg so it looks more natural. On the stomach, we will trim the hair slightly so it is not such an obvious line. If you still don't like how it looks when we are done for any reason, you may want to consider either removing all the hair with sugaring, shaving or trimming. We want you to be impressed with the final look, so let us know if you are satisfied or not. We are happy to work with you until you have a clean, groomed look that you want to show off.
