WHAT IS A PHOTOFACIAL?

A photofacial is a light based treatment that rejuvenates the skin, other times called IPL (Intense Pulse Light) or Skin Rejuvenation.

WHAT DOES A PHOTOFACIAL DO?

The light waves used in a photofacial treat acne, brown spots and fine lines.  The pulsed light is made up of different wavelengths to penetrate different depths of skin.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Like magic! Now you see it, now you don't! It seems miraculous but there is science behind it on a cellular level. The light waves selected have been scientifically proven to treat freckles and pimples, making them fade or disappear within days after the treatment.

DOES IT HURT?

Many IPL or Photofacial machines will feel like a rubberband snap and hurt more or less depending on the setting used by the technician and if a numbing agent is used. At Acomoclitic Studio, we use the Aesthera PPx which does not hurt and requires no numbing.

WHY DOESN'T PPx HURT?

Contrary to other IPL machines, PPx uses pneumatics which is just a fancy word to describe the suction mechanism. The PPx tip sucks the skin closer to the light, thus, making it easier for the light energy to pass through the skin to target the required areas, so less energy is needed and greater efficiency is obtained.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The treatment is very quick - for example it takes less than 20 minutes to treat a face. The treatment itself feels warm and is frequently likened to a "warm massage". It is not unpleasant - in fact, 100% of treated patients described PPx as "relaxing".

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Acomoclitic Studio charges $150 for face, $50 for neck, $150 for upper chest, $225 for face, neck and chest, $50 for hands and $150 for half arms. Prices can be determined for other areas like back or legs. We charge $10 per spot if you only have a couple pimples or brown spots you want treated.

The price quoted is for one pass over the area being treated. On most skin types, it is safe to do 2 passes. You may choose to do 2 passes to reach the results you are looking for faster. If you do two passes, the cost would double (i.e. face would be $300).
