Beta Peel PDF Print E-mail

faceThe Beta Peel (Salicylic Acid Peel) is a more vigorous peel than traditional TCA or Glycolic peels. This peel is usually recommended for blemished, thick or oily skin or skin that is hyperpigmented.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid. It is the only member of the beta-hydroxy acid family, so named because the aromatic canboxylic acid has a hydroxy group in the beta position. Salicylic Acid is an excellent keratolytic agent. Through intense peel treatments, one can achieve beautiful skin. Because of the strength of this particular peel, it is not recommended for all skin types or problems.

Patients who have received Salicylic Peels usually report having experienced skin elasticity and improved feel within the first treatment. In some cases, darkening of the pigment, flaking and minor irritation may occur. All of these side effects subside quickly with proper maintenance techniques and treatments.

HOW DO I START?
After an initial consultation with one of our estheticians, you will begin a customized regime for peel treatment. A member of our staff will also address aftercare, maintenance, repeat treatments and any other questions you may have about the process of a peel.
