The Slim New U HCG Diet is the most amazing diet I have ever tried. I had been over 150 lbs since 8th grade. I remember in high school always making the goal to try and get down to 150 but it never seemed possible. I would do different diets or work out plans and it always seemed like I could get down to about 152 and then a week later I was back at 155 or 157. After high school, I gave up. I don't remember weighing myself very often over the years but I maintained my pant size between 10 and 12. I wore looser fitting shirts to hide my extra weight. I didn't believe there was any way to lose the weight unless I starved myself and I knew it would come right back if I did that, so I stopped trying.

One time that really sticks out in my mind is when I went to the Anti-Gym for a tour. The trainer that met with me was very direct and told me I needed to lose 15 pounds. I couldn't imagine losing 5 pounds and I kept trying to imagine losing 15 pounds. I thought I would look like a anorexic runway model if I lost that much weight! Now I know he was right.

When I discovered the HCG diet, I was really excited to try it out. I hoped to lose 5-10 pounds. The concept is that it burns the stored fat so it's easier to maintain the weight loss. In June 2010 I decided to go for it. I chose to do 30 days and I lost 17 pounds. I got down to 150! I got rid of all my pants and went to the thrift store and replaced them with size 8 and a couple size 6 pants. It felt so amazing! I also noticed that all my shirts were lose fitting and looked frumpy on me now. I saved a couple to wear during bloated period times but got rid of most of them. I enjoyed buying more fitted shirts, blouses and sweaters.

I was never one to put much stock in New Year’s Resolutions.  However, moving into 2011, I began to reflect on life.  Much to my dismay, I am now eligible for senior discounts at restaurants and movie theaters - - - and dangerously close to the “old fart” classification.  Never-the-less, I think I look younger than my years and hope to stick around for a while longer.

From a health perspective there were a few things that needed to be addressed.  My last physical was more that 12 years ago.  A complete physical resulted in an EKG, treadmill test; and the much dreaded, much delayed, colonoscopy.  As if that weren’t bad enough, hemorrhoid surgery followed.  With the mundane housekeeping stuff taken care of, it was time for a little self-indulgence and pleasure.

A walk in the park, a glass of wine, watching more sunsets, stopping to smell the roses, a relaxing massage; all old clichés, but still enjoyable.

How about something new and different?  A spa treatment?  Maybe some grooming changes?

Over the past 20 years, I had periodically done some manscaping.  The look and feel of being shaved down there was pleasant, but the stubble and itchiness was not.  Women had been waxing for years, and now the service was available to men.

After some research on the net, I was most impressed with the site for Acomoclitic Laser & Wax Studio and scheduled an appointment with the owner, Grace Power.  What a lovely name, “Grace Power”.   It seems to imply confidence and refinement  (we will get back to that later).

Grace met me at the front desk.  I was absolutely blown away.  In front of me stood the most stunningly beautiful young woman I have ever seen.  Delicate facial features, smooth creamy complexion, hair of gold, eyes that twinkle, a warm engaging smile, and a pair of legs six feet long.  The vision of the “girl next door”, carried out to perfection.  (I would subsequently find out that Grace has someone special in her life - - - a very lucky guy!)

Grace led me back to the treatment room, asked me to disrobe and hop up on the table.  She briefly left the room to afford me some privacy.  When she returned, she inquired if I had any other areas that needed hair removal other than the “Brazilian."  We talked about a few options and I elected to follow her recommendations.  I was instructed to flop down on my stomach, as she normally works the back and bottom areas first.

Grace was very professional, explained the process, responded to any questions that I had, placing me at ease. I plan on seeing Grace whenever she is available, and possibly one of the other estheticians when she isn’t.  Grace assures me they are equally skilled in their craft.

Anagen – This stage of hair growth is also known as the growing stage. The hair follicle produces to approximately 6 inches in every year in this stage. Hair follicles of legs, eyelashes and arms have a producing phrase of just a few number of months, therefore the hair they grow are short.

Catagen – This stage of hair production is called as the transitional phrase. In this stage, the hair follicle develops into the smaller as the lower sections of the hair follicle. And the human body absorbs them and ends to produce hair.

Telogen – This stage of hair growth is known as the resting phrase. The hair begins falling after two or three months in resting phrase. The old hair falls, the hair follicles enlarge and a new production cycle begins and a new hair shaft starts to produce at the end of this stage.

When it comes to lasering large areas of the body, the dollars can add up to thousands. At Acomoclitic Studio, we love removing hair and we want to take it all off. If you are looking into Full Body Laser there are a few things to consider. What is considered full body? How long will the session take? How many sessions will I need? How much will it cost? How much will I save? and Are there payment plans?

First things first...Full Body is going to be different for everyone. There is usually a big difference for women and men. Typically Men's full body includes back, chest, stomach, shoulders, neckline (front and back), and Brazilian. Other Men want their arm and leg hair included along with feet and hands. We have other male clients who want their underarm hair, ear hair, nostril hair, and unibrow hair included. Other men, ask to have their full facial hair removed. With Valentine's Day in two weeks, we are gearing up for a busy season. Ordering more wax and making sure we have a variety of sparkly gems to choose from. We also started training a new addition to our team, Sarah. Sarah is an esthetician. We have been teaching her our unique techniques for brazilian laser and brazilian waxing.
